How to stop biting my nails
Nail biting is a habit; it is done by many persons from children to adults. It is not a habit that can be easily broken, especially in children. Biting your nails can actually damage the nail beds and cause problems later on with your cuticle. If you have ever asked a question like “how to stop biting my nails?” the answer is there are many different reasons why people bite their nails; it can be because of nerves, lack of will-power, and a deficiency of some sort or just sheer delight in biting them.
It is not a coincidence that nails were created, they are actually there to protect the nail bed and extreme care should be made so as not to damage them. It can be very painful and an eyesore to see the ways in which the nails are nibbled on sometimes. There are many different ways in which this habit forming act can be stopped. Products and services have also been manufactured to stop this destruction of the nail bed.
Manicures have been suggested as a way in which to curb your appetite for nails, the look of well polished, manicured nails as well as the bitter taste of the nail polish should be a deterrent in itself, but that is sometimes not the case. There are different types of creams being introduced for this bad habit. Bitter tasting nail biting creams have also been tried; this will work with some persons, but not with all. Nail biting can be a disappointing habit as with biting, the nails become short, jagged and out of shape. They snag stockings and other soft material causing damage to the fabric.
This habit can cause self consciousness among the persons who do it. The first thing you do is hide your nails if you think someone may be looking at it too hard. There are many persons who would just love to stop this habit, but because of a lack of willpower they keep going back after looking critically at their nails and deciding “that this is the last time” or wondering “how to stop biting my nails?” The tastes in the nail biting creams only act as a deterrent for a while but not for the long term. When you ask someone “How to stop biting my nails” the answers you are equipped with are not necessarily those that can help the situation. It takes willpower, discipline and determination with or without products to achieve this goal.
