On Smoking Weed and Elon Musk

Marijuana is known to all by different names; Weed, Ganja, Spliff, herb, grass, pot, and the list goes on. For many people, this is known as a recreational drug, but for others, its medicinal properties come to the fore. Legalizing a small quantity is perhaps the smartest thing that could ever have happened, because there are die-hard marijuana smokers who would literally die while smoking this plant. Marijuana is called by street names, cultural street names and geographical terms. As with everything else, there are good and bad with smoking the herb. Many have thrown caution to the wind and just indulge in all the highs and lows that it has to offer.

As it is with any drug, there are signs and symptoms that can alert someone about the use of marijuana. Users may experience disruptions in their visual, audio skills, or even a speech impediment. They may experience hallucinations, delayed reaction, increased hunger, memory and focus issues, and elevated levels in their heart or blood pressure. It has withdrawal symptoms, and an individual can get high just by merely inhaling the smoke. The pungent smell cannot be disguised and many have had instances where they are forced to retreat at the smell. Marijuana can be grown in homes, containers, or any small space that is available and it has become more popular now, especially since it is legal for one to have a small plant, or a few ounces on their person.

One of the most popular stories that have emerged on the internet about weed smoking was one in which Tesla boss Elon Musk was seen smoking pot on a podcast in September 2018. The only reason this made such a splash, was because he was seen doing so by the public. If it had been privately done and screened then it would not have been an issue. Many have resorted to ganja, or marijuana use in private as a means of not only getting high, but also as a means of getting a release from the burdens of everyday life. The hypocritical aspect of the negative comments is based purely on his seemingly public display of its use.

Elon Musk, who is known as the name behind SpaceX, has seen his invention become the very first to ship cargo to ISS. SpaceX has since developed the Falcon Heavy and still works with NASA in developing a crew capsule slated to fly sometime in the future. He is known as an advocate of exploring Mars and has publicly discussed his dream of creating a colony on Mars and building a greenhouse there. He has also alluded to creating a transport system called Hyperloop that would go through the major cities.

Elon Musk, just like everyone else who has made disparaging remarks after seeing the podcast, is human and has at some point or another, resorted to different means of recreational ‘Stress detractors,” over the years. His explanation was that the stress that was brought on him by his job, the 120 hours he was working and having to go above and beyond the call of duty is everyone’s’ story, but none will publicly declare this fact. There are many who claim that using marijuana does not impede their judgment or anything else, but that remains to be seen.

Elon Musk, after smoking weed has since been removed from his position as Tesla chairman as he was said to have been in violation of securities laws. Based on the details of Musk’s alleged weed use, NASA has taken a stand and executives have decided to increased scrutiny on SpaceX as the day fast approaches when it transports astronauts into outer space. This was decided in light of what was said by Elon Musk while he was under the influence, even though he said he was not.

In the scope of the whole thing, even though it was frequently said that NASA does not support Elon Musk, it must be noted that NASA, a government agency, receives funding from US Congress and their directions come from the US Government’s Executive Branch. Elon Musk, on the other hand, is an entrepreneur who specializes in several different fields, which include space technology and the goals he has geared towards space exploration. NASA’s contracts with SpaceX include missions to supply the ISS, which may be seen as support. Elon Musk has a dream of sending manned missions to Mars; NASA did not seem ready to support this dream in particular. They did get involved however, with the support and approval of the US Congress.

SpaceX is important to the operations at NASA and is one of the Pentagon’s major suppliers. Billions have been invested in this invention in a bid to improve their space interaction and transportation of satellites for national security purposes. With or without Elon smoking weed on his podcast, he is still important to the government and its operations to send humans into space, so they will have to decide how important it is to them to move on or be stuck in the past.
